Subscriber, running latest Plex on QNAP, wanting documentation/details on setup of Plex server with audiobooks. Anyone got any details on how they did it?
Yeah, I set mine up a number of years ago and works great.
- Your Media has to follow a rigid naming schema.
- Your metadata has to follow a rigid naming schema.
- You cannot use Plex to match metadata.
Scanner: Plex Music Scanner
Agent: Personal Media Artist
Prefer Local Metadata: Enabled
Store Track progress: Enabled
Album Art: Local Files Only
I use TagScanner - The Ultimate Tag Editor and treat each book as its own “album” remove all existing metadata and set:
Author=Artist
Title=Album
book part = Track Number
The rename string is:
%artist%\%album%\%artist% - %album% - %track% of %totaltracks%
