Naming Convention issue with audiobooks

Now that track position can be held on audio files I’m trying to get all my audiobooks on Plex. The tags are all over the place so I’m trying to just get things down to folder/file naming. Here is how I have the structure right now:

Audiobooks\Author - Album\Author - Album.mp3

But this is how it looks when it gets scanned:

Basically album is unknown but the track is getting the album name. I’m joining all tracks into one so there is only one MP3 file and I don’t mind it having the same name/title as the album but I need the album name to show up under the album as well.

As far as I can tell my folder is structured properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you have the book title embedded into your mp3 file as ‘AlbumTitle’?
Otherwise you’d have to remove all embedded metadata.
A partly tagged is file is not ideal.

I’d also recommend you to use
Audiobooks\Author\Album\Author - Album.mp3

Files have all been striped of metadata. I’ll try the alternate folder structure. thanks.

Edit: Tried the alternate folder structure (Audiobooks\Author\Album\Author - Album.mp3) and it read it the same.

Then you’ll have to embed metadata, I assume.
Plex expects to find several tracks for a file, and it expects to find track numbers.

Do also perform the Plex Dance (minus step 4) after renaming files or changing metadata.
