Auto-generated sections in Recommended view

Is there a way to customise, or even turn off some of the sections that Plex creates in the Recommended view?

In addition to the useful sections like Recently Released Movies and Recently Added Movies, I’m getting more and more quite obscure sections appearing such as -

  • Top Movies in Family (only containing 1 movie, which is incorrect based on my Library)
  • Top Movies with [specific actor] - Again, only containing 1 movie, so it’s not as if Plex has discovered an interesting trend in my Library.
  • Recently Played Movies - I understand how this might be useful information occasionally, but I’m not likely to want quick access to keep re-watching the same movies.

The examples above are all from Movies, but the same trend appears in Recommended for TV shows as well.

Note, I’m not talking about the Home screen here, rather the specific libraries’ Recommended screens.

I’d just like a little more control over these sections really. Thanks.

Only the Home screen can be customized.
The ‘Recommended’ tab of the libraries unfortunately cannot.

The ‘Family’ hub will switch occasionally to a different genre.
These things are intended to help you rediscover your collection. And of course they depend on your movies being properly “matched” and having correct metadata.

Could you please make a setting to turn Recommended on/off per library? I can live with it, but it is hard to teach it to my parents. I just want to run plex, pick a movie / serie, and watch. Everything else is “too difficult, I will not use it” :slight_smile:
