auto update

Why is it as a plex pass user I can not get an auto update feature for Ubuntu. it PAIN having to MANUALLY update the server every time an update comes out. I never remember the command. it would be great to be able to let Webmin manage it so I can get to it remotely…
so WHY is this feature not available.

The auto updating is only available for Mac and Windows. It may get extended to other platforms in the future.

Please see the table on this web page for what Plex Pass gives

https://www.plex.tv/features/plex-pass/

See https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/235974187-Enable-repository-updating-for-supported-Linux-server-distributions

That should give you the option to upgrade in Webmin (I have not confirmed it).

You could do auto updating via repo and unattended-upgrades. That’s what I’m doing, until we get an official way to do it.

I’ve been using plexupdate github.com/mrworf/plexupdate

I’ve found plexupdate to be flawless and can send an optional e-mail to tell me it has updated. How have you found the repo & unattended-upgrades to be in comparison?
