I have installed DSM 7 preview and PlexMediaServer-1.21.0.3744-d87012962-x86_64_DSM7.spk on a DS218+, the libraries are not updating automatically. To update a library I’ll have to do it manually or by stopping the package and run it again. In my Plex server, Settings > Library > Scan my Library automatically is marked (enabled) … any suggestions?? workaround??
What you are experiencing is most likely because previous custom configuration of the DSM Linux kernel has been overwritten by the DSM 7 installation process.
Do you still have the Scheduled Task defined which set S2S_Watches_Max ?
Thanks @ChuckPa for your quick reply … I don’t have the task you mentioned on my Scheduled Task, actually never had it … its needed?? if so, could you please provide more information about because to be honest I have no idea!!!
I had the same issue, but all I did to solve this issue was to do the following:
Go into the manage libraries
Each library edit them and select the advanced tab then save it and any that show the agent as Plex legacy change them to Plex movie and then save all changes. This then fixed the issue.
That wasn’t the case. Any new media wasn’t being scanned until I had done the procedure I have described. I tried adding many new media, but nothing would scan, though I could do a manual scan and it would match okay, just would refuse to auto scan.
@ChuckPa I’ve tried your suggestion FAQ 16 and nothing happened, still the same problem not detecting any changes in my media folders automatically, I have to rescan manually. … any other suggestions??
@HomeMediaServer2018 tried your suggestion and didn’t work … my movie library already has the Plex Movie agent, but for example my TV Shows library don’t even have this agent, currently The TVDB … any ideas??
@ChuckPa thanks for your attention … guess this type of issues happen when you install betas or previews, for the moment I’ll keep updating manually and restarting Plex but please, keep me updated!!
That’s exactly what I had to do until I performed the procedure I have posted. I found the most important part to it seems to be saving even if you haven’t made any changes to the library settings. I don’t know if this writes something new that effects it, but it does fix it. Have tried it in several instances now and every time as long as the procedure is done exactly right then it does fix it
@HomeMediaServer2018@ChuckPa saving the library settings did work, it seems to be updating automatically now, just saving the library settings even with no changes
