Automatic Optimise of library

Plex already has an optimise solution which not only creates media files optimised for your selected usage but also renames them using the format “Film Name (year).mp4”

What would be great is if this process could happen automatically either scheduled or on addition of a new file to the library and the resultant optimised version replace the original file.

This would create a perfectly named library all encoded with an optimised codec.

I’m currently having to set batches of my huge library to optimise manually and then removing the original and then moving the new optimised file back into the main folder to achieve the same thing when it would appear all the functions are already in place just some simple automation options needed to tie it together.

I cant beleive no one else on planet earth is interested in an automated library optimization function… What is everyone else doing to optimize and tidy their movies folder then ?

If I have content that requires transcoding I use ffmpeg outside of Plex. It’s not something that needs to be done that often.
