EDIT: nvm, for some reason it just took a literal hour for the settings to actually work…
I have several accounts (both local and remote) that use my plex server. I have the exact same subtitle preferences set for all of them (shown with foreign audio, auto select enabled) and it works on every account except one. plex refuses to select subtitles for only this one account. has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you fix it? (preferably without nuking the account and losing play states) also, just to get some of the inane troubleshooting questions out of the way, no, none of these files have ever had their sub settings manually selected, and yes, the audio/sub tracks are flagged for the correct language. disabling auto select and re-enabling does not work, nor does setting the subs to “always show” instead of “shown with foreign audio.” this account simply refuses to select sub tracks on its own.
