Automatically Play shuffle-all when chosen music ends?

Hi all.

Is it possible to set my headless Plexamp (Pi) player to keep playing “shuffle all tracks” or a default playlist once the chosen track/album/playlist ends?

In my whole-house audio setup we can easily turn down the volume or select another source, so there is no reason for the headless player to ever stop playing music.

I don’t think there’s a “shuffle all tracks” option, but you could enable Settings > Playback > Autoplay > Enabled. Depending on what you were playing, this will give you options to keep the party going / music playing – e.g. by playing the next album of an artist, start an artist mix / radio, track radio (based on the last song), similar artists, songs from the same decade… and as I just noticed… there’s also an option to play a library radio (which is somewhat a “shuffle all tracks”.

If the option is enabled:

  1. open playback page
  2. scroll to the bottom of Up Next
  3. swipe the Autoplay card left/right to pick how Plex should proceed when the queue is done

Thank you.

To be clear, this will still stop the music when the pause button is pressed or when the pi loses power temporarily, correct?

I’m looking for a “commercial music streamer” mode where music starts playing on boot and resumes playing after a few minutes paused or stopped.

The idea should be that anytime the Plexamp audio source is selected, there should be music playing and the app is only required when navigation to specific music is desired.

If you pause/stop, playback won’t automatically resume.
