Is there a way I can get radarr / sonarr to add metadata in a way that plex can detect movie and a user can get plex to trigger radarr / sonarr / nzbget to download media?

Usecase: I’m on 500Mb/s connection, have radarr and sonarr auto download movies and series but I’m not interested in a lot of them. To save storage I’d like to have them display the movie and allow me to trigger a download. The speed of the connection, my server and nas mean that it’s only 5 minutes or so before I can watch. Time enough to get the popcorn.

Please go to the support forums of the RR apps you are using.

You can see though how this involves both them and plex. If plex did not have any way to make API calls then it’s a non-starter hence my initial ask here.

No it doesn’t.
Plex is not for automatically pirating media files.
