Player Version#: Latest - Nvidia Shield Pro
When playing a TV show it will play the first episode and when it’s supposed to count down 10 seconds and then play the next available episode it just stops and never starts the next episode until I manually hit play on my remote. This is the same for shuffle. If I fast forward the episode then it will correctly move on to the next episode but if i watch the whole episode it won’t. It happens on multiple Shield Pros that I have. Seems to be a bug in the newest update.
I am also getting the same error on older server versions. I think this is only on the player app and not server issue. Seems like I have to choose the next episode instead of seeing the 10 second countdown and next episode automatically playing. Currently on the latest beta app version. And server was on 1.29 before upgrading to latest version (non beta)
Play next has stopped working for me as well. I was hoping todays update 9.19.0.1777 would have fixed it but no luck. I have been on the beta player and its stopped working 2 updates ago.
Yeah, just installed the update and it’s still broken. I’m wondering if it’s a bug with the newish skip end credits update. I’m not seeing that option at all anymore.
Experiencing this too, but only on my Google TV Plex app. Autoplay works fine on every other device including the normal android app. Seems to be an issue isolated to the Android TV app
Are you also by chance also getting multiple sounds with your shield controller? There are episodes that when the skip intro button comes up just sounds like I’m holding a controller button down constantly. There are so many bugs in this new UI update.
I am seeing both of these issues on my shield pros. No auto play and sounds like you describe while skip intro button is on the screen. Glad to see I’m not the only one
Wonder what it’s going to take to get the attention of one of their employee’s to at least confirm these issues are being looked into. I use shuffle and auto play every day and it’s getting really annoying having to manually hit play at the end of every episode. Plus the constant multi button press sound just navigating through screens is supper annoying as well. I also found this auto play issue is affecting my Android phone as well.
Its disappointing that posting here is the documented method for reporting bugs and 6 days after this post was created it has not been acknowledged by anyone from Plex. It comes across as indifference to the experience paying customers have. Are they working on a fix? Do they know about the bug? Do they care?
Same here. I was on the beta release but signed out of beta, uninstalled Plex on the Nvidia Shield, reinstalled the stable general release, rebooted the Shield and same issue.
I will note that when I play episodes from my ipad or apple tv using the same Plex Server I do not have this issue. For me it is ONLY when I watch Plex on my Nvidia Shield
I have the same problem with my Shield Pro. It appears to be a recent issue and may have started after Nvidia updated software. Am now running Android TV version 9.1.1.
Same issues on my Shield Pro with the latest update. It often doesn’t progress to the next episode. I’ve noticed sometimes it does but the screen goes completely black while I still hear audio and see subtitles. Skip intro is also often making sounds like I’m pressing buttons quickly. Extremely annoying and regressive behaviors. Garbage updates like this should not be pushed out.
