Back Button resetting to near top of library on Shield Pro and Fire Stick 4K Max

I thought I should finally make a topic here and ask about an issue that has plagued Plex on both the Nvidia Shield Pro and Fire Stick 4K Max ever since I’ve used Plex on both devices. Server version and app version has never mattered, it’s always had this bug ime, but I can update the post with that information. I’ve seen the issue raised quite a few times over the years in various forums with other users affected, but no resolution has ever been posted.

When navigating a library and entering in to a movie’s page, when you exit back to the library, it kicks you to the top of the library every time. With a 4500 title library, this basically makes it not usable, especially since navigating that far down again is not as snappy on these Android apps and takes a long time to get back to where you were. Sorting options make no difference. Instead of pressing back, you can press left to the library again, and sometimes this will work, but often does not and seems to freeze the selector up for a bit. I’ve had to move to other server programs because of this, even though I prefer Plex and have a lifetime pass.

I’m surprised this has not gotten more attention given the significant impact to the experience. I assume this is a bug with the app regardless of platform, but these are the only 2 devices I have to test it on.

Is there any hope of this ever being addressed? Does this affect everyone?

I’ve poked around and this bug has appeared to exist dating as far back as 2017 according to some reddit threads, so I don’t think we should expect a fix anytime soon. A ton of people complaining about it, but also a lot claiming theirs was fine, so I’m not sure if this is a 100% universal bug, or something that only affects a portion of users for whatever reason.
