Ever since the last PLEX update, I got a problem that I’ve been trying to resolve but without success. While I go through my menus to decide what to watch that I put in there, I can hear in the background what seems to me like live TV playing which is unrelated to my browsing, it’s like the PLEX live is fully playing all the time now even if I don’t actually go on it to watch something, and that goes on until I decide to watch something, then of course it stops since the sound of what I’m playing takes over, but it comes back after it’s done. I looked everywhere in the setting and can’t figure out what to change if there’s anything possible. I’m using Plex on my Desktop Computer through Windows 11 and the app is also setup from my Samsung Media TV (brand new 4k model). Anybody knows how to fix this?
In the client settings, turn off Theme Music.
Plex Web: Settings → Plex Web → General.
Will be similar for other clients.
I’m not talking about Theme music at all, there’s a difference here, I’m talking about hearing what seems to be live TV with voices and music etc… in the background, the Theme Music option as been turned off for quite a long time now, so it’s definitely not that.
I’m getting that too, only on my LG OLED TV Client, not Android or web. I tried turning off the Theme Music too, to no avail.
It seems to be related to the feature where Plex will start previewing a Live TV Channel if you leave the cursor/selection on the channel thumbnail for a while. Once it starts playing, it won’t stop until you play something else.
I’ve been making sure not to linger on Live TV channels and it seems to avoid the issue. HTH.

I installed Live TV this week and i also run into this problem on HTPC. On iOs en in the Web Player it works just fine.

Update: I fixed the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling Plex for LGTV! Hooray!
Like OP, I am experiencing this problem also.
It used to be perfectly possible to browse while something was playing, but since the last last couple of months, no longer.
It’s quite frustrating.
I’m not using Live TV, just streaming music from my media server. I’m using the LG TV Plex client.
