Backing up configuration

How do I back up just the configuration of my media server? I am using the docker image and can see data in the volume mapped to config, but I only see metadata, etc.

While setting this server up, I had to clear out the mapped volumes, generate a new claim, and restart the container. After authenticating, my authorized devices list showed all the other old attempts (that were functioning).

So I gather the config is stored online, but how do I recover my server and point it to the existing configuration when needed?

You need to backup the Preferences.xml file. If this gets lost or deleted, the connection between the server and the “authenticated server device” in your plex.tv account is lost. On Linux, this should be stored right with the other Plex data.
