I am looking for a better / working way to backup and restore my plex config and metadata. I tried to follow the existing walk-through. They are semi-complex (reg editing). I was also unsuccessful in getting it restored. I copy the folders and run the Regedit. A lot of my settings were preserved but none of the playlists and metadata were saved. I really need a way to save my playlist and or metadata. I had over 400 movies to match manually.
A request for the same feature exists already, and it has more votes.
