Exellent idé!

Please do this. I dont know about anyone else here, but once I discovered plex and how amazing it is, I have spent days on days configuring and filing media.
It is hard to believe it does not have a backup/restore option. Even if you make it a separate program, that would still be better than coping files manually.
If/when this happens, please oh please make sure the restore option will check EVERY folder destination before making plex insert it. This way if you changes hard drive names/location, etc, you are given the chance to give it the correct path for the files before it goes bananas on you.
the backup button should give u an option to configure a backup location one time, and do the backup with only one click of a button. On top of that, you should be able to schedule a backup that will repeat as desired.
plz plz plz ^^

Any application that uses a database should by default have a backup and restore function.

I agree, this is a function that should be available and needed.

YES, Spent 4 hours last night fine tuning Collections, Titles, and cover art on 800 movies that I lost in a recent crash. The movies are fine (on an unraid NAS) but setting Plex back up the way I like was a PITA.
fantastic idea +1
Would love this

YES PLEASE!! i’ve moved my plex now three times. ok, i’m going to just write an old school script to do this since i think i now know exactly what folders we need on a new system to keep all metadata/custom data.
