And also a button to restore Database...
Yes!
We need this! I've bought a new harddrive since my media collection is growing so I am going to re-install Plex onto a smaller harddrive and use the terrabyte hardrive that is currently installed for additional storage. Without this feature I need to spend time researching and looking up the relevant information on the Wiki and forums in order to maintain the current state Plex is in…
This would be awesome. I just ran into the problem where I needed to change the plex cache from my system drive to another drive. (system drive is only 64gb ssd and plex is taking up >18 gb of space). Upon doing so all my old data was just ditched and I was forced to start from scratch. If I could export and load my library I could keep my plays and other play information etc and just import them back in. Another idea that is nice is to migrate the old data over to the new cache location when the location is changed.
Would be great
Yes, please! I am afraid of upgrading an older machine just because I am afraid to loose my carefully maintained plex database
The really nice feature would be:
1. Automatic (scheduled by user, monthly, weekly, daily basis) backup of PLEX library.
2. Ability to move old database to new PLEX server on the LAN, for example from PLEX on mac mini to PLEX on Synology NAS (or other devices).

would like this as well
also a feature to be able to "transfer PMS to new system"
a way to "restore" from a backup ... all settings/preferences/myPlex shared users.
Fantastic Idea,

Cheers Rob.
Yeah! Like this idea!
Here's an idea (not sure how feasible it would be) but what if settings and databases were backed up to myPlex and somewhere in the server there was a restore database button. You simply log into your myPlex account, select the backup and then press the restore button…
Upvoting this rather than start another topic as I think it covers what I would like : ability to sync libraries / watch status between 2 plex servers, both have access to the same file system, one is on hardcore transcoding maching for syncing (cloud and ios) the other is on lower powered machine that is hardwired to TV where majority of content is consumed, Thanks

Great idea

I'll need this when I need to upgrade hard drives.

i've moved servers 3 times already. maybe use a universal folder/database structure that matches on windows/linux/mac.
