Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112
Player Version#:Firefox Browser
I was streaming some live TV this morning and looking at the server status via the Firefox web browser this morning. According to the status page, I’m streaming the channel at 10gbps?? That can’t be right.
That is Direct Play. In this case the file is just forwarded to the client as-is.
So the server cannot do anything to influence the bandwidth or anything else about it.
That’s why it shows the currently highest-achievable speed in a local network.
Thanks for your answer. 10Gbps must be an assumed value if that’s true. My theoretical max bandwidth is 1Gbps - not 10. I did not post an image of the bandwidth graph which accurately showed 10mbps. So it’s wrong by a factor of 1000.
It is an assumed speed. As a home user you can already get equipment for 10 Gbps network speed nowadays.
Plex doesn’t determine the “interface” speed as such.
