Hello,
When I watch a very good quality movie on my latest generation Samsung TV, the quality is poor even though all settings are set to the best level. If I’m using my iPhone and streaming to the same Samsung TV through my Chromecast Ultra, the quality is great. An idea ?
Best regards,
Eric
What is displayed in Plex Dashboard → Now Playing?
Is the connection local/remote/indirect?
Is the audio or video transcoding?
Include a screenshot if possible.
Hi FordGuy61,
Thank you for your answer.
Tell me if you need moire informations
You are using a relay server (Indirect)
So it seems like the TV can’t connect directly to your server, and is as such network related.
Please provide more info about both your setup, as well as where the TV is located
Sorry for my bad English but I’m French
I use a Internet box on which my computer and my TV are directly connected (Ethernet for the PC and HDMI for the Samsung TV).
I use App Plex on Samsung TV to watch the movies from my computer. The TV can connect to Plex Server but the quality is not good.
Maybe the problem is here but I don’t know how to fix it.
Are you saying that your Samsung TV is directly connected to your router via an HDMI cable?
Yes. Is it a problem?
Sadly no idea, since first time I’ve heard about this
Could you try and connect your TV either wireless or via an ethernet cable to your router instead?
(And most likely you’ll get better performance using wireless, since I suspect that the network interface on your TV is limited to 100mb)
I don’t think so.
While we were chatting, I changed some settings and luckily the original quality is kept. Top !
Thanks for your help dane22 and FordGuy61!
Could you please tell us what you changed, so we all learn
It’s complicated because I don’t know if it was changes to the TV interface settings that fixed the problem or to the interface settings https://app.plex.tv
I risk writing nonsense …
Thank you again and can you tell me how to close this topic?
