BDMV/M2TS playing

Plex is already a great player of M2TS. Even with clients that don't support this format, it plays great (trnacoded of course). The problem is that Plex doesn't know how to scan a BDMV folder. What should be done:

Plex will play the big file (Which is the movie of course) by default so you don't have to manually take the big file to movies folder.

And if you're unlucky, it is not the movie but the movie with added 'behind the scenes' content where every now and then the movie is stopped and some commentator digresses. Which would then lead to further requests of a limited support for Bluray menu structures.

Use makemkv and be done with it.

Not all movies work this way. Some movies use seamless branching. Which means the main movie is broken up into large file chunks. To read this you would need to implement some type of bluray structure handling which is out of scope for plex.

Yes, it will.

If you have got a BluRay with seamless branching, makemkv will simply rip it twice. One file with the branching, the second without it. You must then pick the one you want to keep.
