To convert your DVD video to MP4 maybe a good alternative. I have used a software - WonderFox DVD Ripper Pro before, which supports to rip your DVDs to various formats and compress your video file. I am accustomed to use this one because it is really easy to operate even for user like me who know little about software. LoL.
