Hi,
It’s been a few years i’m using Plex Server on my personal NAS. It works fine.
I only use my NAS for PLEX server and i’m thinking about getting rid of it cause It takes too much place.
I have a Nvidia Shield TV (before 2019) and i recently took a seedbox account.
Both of them suggest to install Plex Server.
(My Nvidia Shield is connected to my very high speed internet connexion)
My need:
One single person watching 1080p movie or TV-show
According to your experience and knowledge, what’s the more efficient between those 2 options?
I’re read that Plex on Nvidia is not perfectly stable
and… if i use the seedbox, what about the quality? Will the seedbox compress the vidéos? how can i know that
I’ve tried Nvidia Shield Plex server and WOW, it works perfectly. It was even faster than my Plex Server installed in my NAS.
About using the Cloud as a drive for my movies: actually i prefer to have my videos “in” my flat so that i’m not dependant on the server health.
Now i’m doing some test: using my NAS as a drive or using a HDD connected to my shield. I would prefer to get reed of my NAS as it’s way bigger than a HDD.
Thank you. Actually i don’t need to use EOP or wireless cause my NAS can be right nex the Shield.
I’m still doing some test to see how a HD connected to the shield works.
Thanks!
I’ve been using the Shield Pro with Synology NAS setup going on almost 3 years. It’s pretty rock solid! I also have Plex Server setup on my Synology and Windows Duel Xeon setup with SSD…By far the Shield Server is snapper than the Xeon and Synology Servers at browsing my movie collection. My collection is about 700ish Movies.
