Hi,
I was wondering which platform (OS X, Embedded etc.) would be best for OpenPHT if I want to max out quality and features. I have a Mac Mini here with OS X that I have used for PHT and PMP for years, but I also have a spare DIY mini-PC with current hardware (Skylake based) that I could use for Embedded or Windows.
Your thoughts?

I don’t have those devices, but Mac Mini with 1.4 HDMI and a fast enough CPU should have all the features you’d want. Skylake is supposed to support native h265 decoding, which really just means you don’t need a fast CPU to compensate. I can’t think of any features you’d be missing with either of those.
I have seen threads from other users that indicate the embedded versions using VAAPI are better when using chrome boxes, but I can’t confirm.
Personally, I would use OSX or Windows and load OpenPHT on top. That way I could use my other streaming services such as Netflix, HBO Now, Hulu, etc.
Maybe someone who has these models could chime in and give more information.
