First of all, congratulations for the job.
This (OpenPHT) is exactly what I’ve been looking for…
I’ve used two AppleTV1 with Broadcom Crystal HD card running Crystalbuntu for quite some times but as I was more into Plex than into XBMC I never find out a “working nicely enough” Plex package for XBMC.
So I switched to some Chromecast (first generation) but I was not very happy with them either (issues around WiFi and the PMS eating too much CPU recoding videos to deal with WiFi/Chromecast).
I eventually found out OpenPHT and installed the last version on a NUC (first gen i3) I had lying around and it’s just perfect (LAN connected).
It reminded me I still had the Apple TV1 and I was wondering if I could use OpenPHT embedded on them.
The first tries I made with 1.6.2 are a no-go: the USB key doesn’t even boot.
I read in the forum 1.5.x might work on older platforms (different kernel?) so I’m going to give it a try.
However, I’ve read on XBMC’s wiki that BHCD were not supported anymore since Kodi 14.
Is it the same with OpenPHT?
