Best Practices on Naming and Organizing videos that are neither TV nor Movies

One thing I like about Plex is that it removes the obligation of needing to keep physical media around. As such, I like to borrow DVDs, rip them, then pass them along to others. Often, these DVDs aren’t movies or TV shows, but like random instructional videos or something. My most recent example is a video about teaching your baby to sign (I’m having a baby soon).

Plex isn’t recognizing that this video is on my NAS, and I suspect it’s due to the naming convention and that it’s not finding it in the lookup database, which is a common problem, so I read.

More generally than just getting Plex to recognize this one video, I’m wondering how others manage videos that aren’t movies or TV shows. Any advice is welcome.

It needs to be in Other videos

Call it what you like

To add to that, you need to create an Other Videos type library, not a Movie library.
