Installed the latest beta released two hours ago. Playback information dialog immediatelly closes after opening. New visualizer feature doesn’t work just says “communicating with server” and nothing happens. Tested on two different devices, same behaviour.
@SamFromPlex If needed I can provide logs.
I have the sad feeling that more and more bugs get introduced instead of fixed.
Posted here:
Same issues as @holger mentioned.
Restarting the app now-ish should fix it, let me know?
Killing and restarting Plex did not change anything
One more time please (we had a false start)
Nice and fancy, visualizer works now but I’m more interested into the playbackinfo which still doesn’t work! Guess this needs a new release to be fixed.
That should be back, you mean the codecs info?
EDIT I’m checking if we put it back into the beta.
Try tapping the screen where the art/visualizer is ![]()
Yes, I guess. Translated “Wiedergabe informationen” 1:1 into english. BTW: is there the possibility to switch the Plex UI language on android to english?
This would be welcome
It makes it much easier to see what’s going on regarding transcoding/direct play

, that’s annoying, I’ve poked the guy who re-added the codec stuff, shouldn’t be hard to fix. Thanks for the heads up!

Just experienced a crash, while using the ‘skip 30s’ button, on a song that was still filling the cache/streaming:
Issue will likely be near bottom of the logs Uploading: plex-log-d2dyno.zip…
Heck ya!! Thanks for the tip! =)
@SamFromPlex I just tried Library Radio casting from the web, and it has the same issue, which leads me to believe this is a Chromecast issue and not Android Client issue. So I created a topic in that forum: Casting Library Radio does not automatically advance songs
The stuttering issue seems to have gotten worse. Im getting basically everytime now when I start playback after several hours not using the phone.
Before, when I crashed the player by closing the app when its stuttering, I got a second player whose playback was fine again. Now the playback of the new player always stutters too.
Dragging the notification of the crashed player to the right results in both players being closed. Pressing the X in notifications on crashed player kills only the new player. Wtf are you guys doing

We can’t reproduce this issue, it seems like it might be “device” (e.g. something about that device config) related. Something like that is difficult to fix without it being able to test things. I’ll bug some people about it today to see if we can get you a build to guinea pig some theories about what might fix it ![]()
Notifications, yeah we must have changed how we use them in the new player, I’m going to look at what’s going on there that as one of my next tasks.
I have this issue as well, but can’t reproduce when I disable Viper4Android.
Somewhere here mentioned it might be a latency thing.
