Im super happy you can now add episodes to collections, it would offer a lot more options compared to a dumb playlist, but theres no way to use an episode type collection as a filter the way you can a “Show Collection”.
Its not in the dropdown.
But since “Show Collection” is there it seems like this is just a UI oversight more than anything?
But also regarding episode collections and the UI though it seems like if you can add episodes to collections now, theres a lot of instances missing the “add too collection” option where it would make sense be available. The search box quick results

and from playlists as well .
In all those cases you have to go all the way to the episode page itself to add it to a collection.
Since dumb playlists have limited uses i sorta feel like ANYWHERE we would be able to add something to a playlist we should also be able to add it too a collection.
But while were talking about adding things to collections from the playlist interface it should be possible to handle multiple items in it also. Right now if you select multiple items in a playlist, your ONLY options are deselect or delete.
It would be really nice if this top bar thats in collections came up in playlists as well.
Actually that would be great in search results too, but you cant select multiple items in search results at all even.
What my goal here is, i have all the holiday episodes on my server in playlists. I would put those on shuffle when it was the season. I want to convert all those to collections. But the only way to do that is opening each individual episode page and adding them to the collection one at a time. Being able to select all in a playlist and add to collection would save me DAYS.
Then i want to turn the collections into smart playlists that will skip episodes that have been recently played. But theres no way to filter episode collections.
And then i also want to filter holiday episode collections FROM my regular playlists, but also not possible without an episode collection filter.
