+1 Would like shared playlists

I would not only like to see a tick on/off for sharing certain playlist but I would also like to see a tick for “allow duplicate items in playlist” for when you accidentally add songs or movies twice in your playlist.

Would have been sweet to be able to share a “best of horror” playlist today on Friday the 13th!

Yeah I know… even tough it “looks” like a simple thing to implement!
Please, this feature would make Plex 100% the best full-functioning media server.

You can use a python script to share playlists to shared users. Here is the script. And here is a fun playlist idea.

Are you running them as cron jobs btw?
Using a cron job (linux) or task (windows) should work fine.
Wow, this looks like fun @Blacktwin. Can anyone point me to a web page that helps me understand how I add a script? I know my QNAP is running Python but I have no idea how to access it and how to add a script. Been searching on google and not getting any results that will help me. Seems QNAP Community site is down which probably doesn’t help!

+1, sharing would much more flexible with this feature, make plex flex 
+1 really need to have this. start by just having a check for the server admin to make a playlist “shared”. Just start by not listing items in a share list that they don’t have access too.

@KnightCat83, Do you do this through the dynamic playlist option, or do you manually update as new episodes are added?
I was just reading something earlier via a google search regarding the plexAPI… inside the python plexAPI, there appears to be a function in the playlist module/library to “copy_to” another user… I haven’t read the entire thing, but thought it was interesting…
