Throwing my vote in too. Long time off and on plex user but I’m diving in head first with the new year. Getting everything fully organized and sharing with family and a couple friends. I would love to be able to share my simple “franchise” playlists with them, without them having to create their own (Marvel/DC/DC Animated/Harry Potter/Star Wars/Pixar/etc).
Groups of movies that aren’t easily searchable by film title/director filters, but are very clearly linked in the viewers mind.
A single dump of admin (me) recommended movies would be cool too, but I admittedly didn’t think of that use case until skimming through this thread.
How is this still not a feature? This thread is over 3 years running.
Liked the original thread and throwing my voice behind it. Here’s my usecase:
My wife and I want to create a playlist for my 7 year old son that we can each sync to our devices so regardless of who he’s with, they have his music.
We use Plex for whole-home audio, and want to have a few house playlists that are accessible from either of our devices, and receives updates (additions, subtractions of songs) from either of us.
Please please please, Plexians. Is there anything you can tell us about development of this?

I would like to use my ‘admin’ account for myself (can delete media, configure server, etc), have separate accounts for the wife & kids (so they don’t break anything horribly), and be able to create & share playlists. I’d even be happy with an import/export option.

OP has to decide, but when said, it’s NOT sharing, which was the REQ by the OP.

It is a great workaround. It is not really a final, integrated solution,
as you have to go and copy each playlist every time it changes.

I don’t think you can really call it solved unless it’s integrated into PLEX itself.

+1 for sharing playlists.
Also, the ability to ‘sort’ the dynamic playlists by title or release date… Currently it seems they’re sorted by import date.
Also, if ‘Collections’ is the fix for this (I hope not, it’s harder to add movies this way), but you could create a navigation item called ‘Collections’, and just populate it with all the tags, and provide some kind of sort-order.
You just need an easy way to show movies in a custom group using non-computers like Roku.
