Better Playlists

I can not count how many times I’ve needed this feature over the past. I’d love to be able to share out playlists with my family such as my “Ready Player One” list, the proper Star Wars viewing order, all Christmas movies, or Christmas TV Episodes.

the list goes on and on.

Im sure most of us have given everyone in our families an account on our plex servers. We all have various playlists for whatever occasion or mood. Let us share them with our users please. Yes, music is THAT important…!
Thanks guys!

+1 for this feature.

+1 this feature would be very helpful.

Also +1 for this feature.

Don’t forget to “like” the first post in this thread to vote for this request, otherwise your +1 will not count!

+1 For this much needed feature!

+1 I run the server on 2 systems and can’t even share between those. My dad uses my server and would love to share lists of “must see/hear” items between us.

So, almost 3 years. This featured are asked all around the internet, redit, here, everywhere. Is THAT difficult for Plex programmers to do that? I mean. Come one guys. All users are asking the same feature. Share the playlist.

In my internal server I created an user named “Playlist” and by hand copied the playlist that I want to share between my family. And if they want to play one the switch the user.

If is THAT difficult to do, just add a checkbox when create a playlist to be “public” and create a shared folder that plex will include playlist from.

It is disappointing that they have not made this happen after so many years and so many request. It can’t be that hard. You can share everything else

Seems like an oversight not to include this feature.

Hey. Please add the ability to share specific playlists between users

+1 for my favorite feature request

I was just adding my kids and realized you can’t share playlists. That’s pretty sad. I created 5 days worth of movie playlists for the sitter to keep the kids busy with during the summer if needed. She just fires up Plex, logs in as “lil johhny” hits “monday” and 8hrs of movies are at her disposal. But no, I can’t do that and I’m not letting my kids log in as the admin user… WE NEED THIS!!

But we can DVR!!!

/sarcasm

…so confused. A user in my homegroup made a playlist, and now it is showing up under my library. I’m confused because it seems like everyone wants this functionality but apparently it doesn’t work for them, while I wan’t to remove this functionality, and can’t seem to find a way to do so. I don’t want to delete the playlist or anything, because it’s theirs, I just don’t want to be able to see it.

Make sure you “like” the original post. This works much better than saying “+1”.

That is interesting. I’ve never had it do that for me. Are you sure they didn’t log in as you in the home group? Non of my other homegroup users can see any of the play lists I have made and I have many.

I mean, I guess it’s possible. I have a pin on my account, but there have been a couple of times where he inadvertently made it in to my account without having to enter my pin through the web player. I’ll have to ask him when I see him tomorrow.

Has anybody with control over this commented yet? I created a simple channel that shows the playlists for all users as a channel. You can play them all; however, the icons and track information (aside from titles) are missing. If I am able to do that in a couple hours, why can’t the development team put together what we are begging for after all this time?
