I’ve been using Plex as my daily driver for listening to my music collection while traveling, however, there’s a lot to be desired with it.
- With Android 8.0, music apps can now theme their “now playing” notifications with album colors, take Google Play Music for example. I haven’t seen this on the Plex app yet. An ugly white notification.
- Playing synced, offline music is buggy and annoying at times with constant loading bars (to access local content?).
- Pressing the back button in an album takes you to the artist, rather than your album view, behavior which isn’t even changeable in the settings.
- Still no gapless playback? In 2017?
- You can’t choose a default view when looking through your music, and I very much hate that it defaults to an artists view.
Can the developers show any love for these features, especially gapless playback? I wanted to switch to Plex from Google Play Music as my daily driver music app, but it’s hard to with features like these that are missing.
