BEWARE: plexmediaserver 1.41.9.9912 breaks album local assets for embedded release type metadata

Thanks! I also just tested with that one single from your original post and it works as expected for me too.

Another quick question, do the files have embedded artwork or not?

I don’t have any embedded artwork, I strip any attached artwork from my files using musicbrainz picard. It was also one of the first things I checked. I also have my music settings to only use local files for album artwork.

Logs coming via DM shortly.

With @dokuro help in providing the diagnostics info I have been able to track down the issue.

The cause is with music files that have embedded tags for the Musicbrainz release type, the way the data was being serialised was incorrect (it was serializing like "live": "1" instead of "live": true which is what we were expecting.

Fix in the works.

Thanks @drzoidberg33. I’ve also adjusted the threads title to more reflect the actual issue.

Please fix this asap. I’m having the exact same issues with this new update. I never had problems before with cover artwork not pulling from local files only until this latest update

Do we have any idea when this will be fixed?

This is a beta release. I’d recommend you stick to the stable release if you want to avoid disruptions like this.

Monday. We avoid doing releases over a weekend.

I updated to the beta and am still having messed up album release dates. I’ve scanned, I’ve refreshed meta data, everything is tagged from Picard.

Month and day is always JAN 1, of the correct year. The month and day are not being pulled in properly for albums

For what its worth, I’m not seeing this issue …

… and here are my tags …

Are you using the date tag or something else ?

BTW… you might need your own thread as this is different to the issue I initially reported.
