Big issue with plex media server

Hi, after lastests two updates when watching movie after some time, pms is hangs…

Thanks - is it the server or the player that hangs?

what app were you watching on ?
what actually happened ? is it the playback that hangs or is the server not rersponding to any plex app request ?

All apps:

  • newest android app on galaxy note 8
  • plex web (on localhost and remote)
  • plex media player on windows 10
  • smart tv (samsung tv)

When I restart plex media server then all is working fine, but after some time plex media server stops working and I can move around the application, but when I want play something content like movies, picures then loading only, nothing else…

I reinstalled the plex media server by choosing option repair, but still have this issue

I have looked at the logs you posted. I see you did the http://127.0.0.1:32400/connections requests between 10:33:39 and 10:34:21

I can see an attempt to view the scheduled DVR recordings failed because of a database lock
This was between 10:30:19 and 10:31:26

I have referred the diagnostics to the development team

I now also found some playback requests hung from 00:50 am !

What period of time do your scheduled tasks run ? Settings / Server / Scheduled Tasks (start time / end time)

Time at which tasks start to run 3 am
Time at which tasks stop running 6 am

You can - the fix in that release is not related to lockouts

A build of Plex Media Server with extra diagnostics and potential fix will be available shortly which I would like you to use and try to break !
