Player Version#: Firestick and direct from the server
Greetings all,
I am a life member. I have been using Plex from the start. But since the most recent updates. I have been having a lot of issues. Okay so here are my issues. But first here is a run down of my setup.
I am running version 5 of Proxmox. The VM has 12GB of Ram and 8 cores. I fired up a different VM on a different VM. gave it 16 cores and 20GB of ram.
So here are the issues.
No matter if I get it to send direct play or transcode. It buffers at the start. Then about 5 to 15 minutes in. It is stop playing. Show that it is buffering. If you view the dashboard. It says it has been paused. But it keeps transcoding. You can see the buffer in the play bar. But once it buffers to the limit of the Transcoder default throttle buffer, it stops. I can stop it and play again. It will start playing again. Sometimes it will not remember where you was at. At that time it starts all over. That gets very old. Trying to find where you was. My second Plex server doesn’t buffer as much. But it still will.
The fire stick will not always operate. I have 300 MBPS running to the firestick over a commercial wifi access points. I have ran this from ORIGINAL to .5 SD. I keep getting the server is not fast enough and you need to try a different quailty. If I watch plex. It just pauses. No one is touching the remote.
While I am typing this. I was watching Live TV. It was playing. It stopped to buffer. It shows paused but still buffering in the play bar. It will not play till it is ready. I have the throttle buffer set to 0. I have been playing with this value and will not change any performance. Now I do have to say is that if I watch Live TV or a recorded TV shows. It pauses. But records fine. But if I watch a movie. There is no issues. I do have to transcode. I can not run direct. The server is with in 5 feet from any clients.
IS anyone experiencing the same issues?
