Is there any sing of BIOS files being supported so we can use the like of Sega Saturn/MegaCD/Dreamcast emulators? RetroArch supports them so I’m guessing that you would be able to support loading of bios files? As these are all CD based systems you would also need enable bin/cue/iso etc
we don’t scan those disc-based files yet, but we’ll look to improve that in the future. the main issue is it’s harder to identify the platform based on the file since many different systems share bin/cue/iso.
Could you perhaps allow us to narrow the search by selecting the emulator to use for the game and the platform? That way then if the game cant be found automatically you could allow us to fix match like with other libraries??
Would definitely like to see these features in sooner rather than later. There’s quite a few platforms out there that would be nice to have.
The Saturn Emulator uses CHD file format FYI ![]()
i think that’s another one which multiple cores/platforms would use (e.g. i’m pretty sure MAME/arcade uses them as well).
its a standardised file format i believe. You would need some way of assigning the type of rom and emulator core for each file. Perhaps take a look at RetroArch’s way of adding favourites?? you can choose to add a file, entry or folder. for each it asks for the core to be used and the database to use to look up the game. Perhaps you could allow us to set an emulator type based on folder structure ie N64 folder uses Parallel N64, megadrive uses Genesis_sx, sega cd uses Picodrive etc. That way when we add roms to one of our folders it will automatically use the emulator associated with that folder?
