Black screen after starting Watch Together session

I run my own Plex server at home, and I’ve been using the Watch Together feature of Plex fairly often to watch content with someone for over a year now.

Normally, I’ll invite them to watch something, and then Plex shows the waiting screen with the content information and who I’ve invited, and when they’re ready, it will start playing.

A strange issue has started happening in the past couple of weeks - When I invite this person to watch something, it briefly shows the waiting screen but often now it will quickly go to a black screen for me. The Plex app will then tell me they’ve joined, but in order to start playing the video, I have to move the video (usually I’ll step the video forward and then back) and then press enter on my remote, and then it starts playing.

This happens with the Plex client app on a TCL Roku TV (I’m not sure if that matters though). Is this a recent known issue?

I have a Sharp Roku and have been encountering this same issue with watch together, started one or two weeks ago. Even when moving the video forward I find that sometimes the session isn’t synced i.e if paused for them, it’s not paused for me. I also see that the screen brightness goes down when I am “ready” in the session. Really weird, hopefully an update will fix it soon.
