Noticed that over the last month or so, when I try to start (or join someone elses) watch togeather, my roku tv (TCL TV) will start to buffer, then show me a black screen. Almost like it started to play and paused it at 00:00:00.
But it cannot resume. And anyone else joining in cannot watch, as its trying to sync to my TV, which is “broken”.
I can however exit the watch together, and everyone else can watch fine. They are generally running from the web browser.
I can also separately watch the same file.
I am running the latest roku version for my TV, as well as the latest plex app on the tv (I want to say it is 7.x.x update 19, I can confirm this when I get home).
Also while testing, when I start and join the WT on my roku, even with no one else joining, my player will start to buffer and as soon as it is done buffering, it will display the black screen, I do not even click the start button.
I have rebooted the TV, force checked for updates, uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
I even toggled the option I found in other older posts about the direct streaming/transcoding without any new results.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any other suggestions on what to try next? It gets annoying to have to start and manually sync up my player with the group because I cannot even join the WT group I made…
