More often than not, my PS4 will get past the Plex logo and hang before it gets to the user selection screen. Exiting and killing Plex and trying to restart the app does not resolve the problem. Not really sure what does, but every now and then it does indeed let me log in.
The newest client is pretty great when it lets me log in. Sadly, thats not often.

Just to be explicit, you all are seeing: Plex logo -> Black Screen (Death) -> Never see Plex Home user selection?
Thats correct. I havent tried reinstalling the app like that other guy, but like I said previously, every now and then the app will load. Just very rarely.
I hope its resolved soon because I really like how the client has evolved.

I'm having this same issue. When I first install the app I get to the select user screen> home page If I close the app, and try to reload I get this black loading screen. It shows the PLEX logo, then just the blackscreen. If I hit "circle" it says "Loading" but never does.
I'm having the same issue on my PS3. Just started today with 2.3.25

confirmed and exact same thing here. this is when having to use my MOBILE PHONE to enter in the darn pin code too, lol.
everything was working.. turned ps4 off.. came back a bit later, launched app, put in pin code ON MY PHONE browser then BLACK SCREEN with a brief LOADING sign. hitting CIRCLE button on ps4 will make LOADING pop up again, then endless black.
the fix is to UNINSTALL and REINSTALL the app. solid bug here.
I found a way to fix it. You need to access your server settings on a browser and go to your device list and delete the ps4. It will cause the plex app to need a new pin to re-auth, but it does work. Quicker than deleting and re-installing Plex on ps4 but i always have my phone or a laptop close by so I can do this very quickly.
EDIT: Just further clarity. I actually just had this issue tonight for the first time launching so I didn't think anything of it until I saw the other posts. Before this I was getting the new PIN screen for my user pin, but tonight for the first time i got plex splash screen followed by black screen. Hitting the O button would make "Loading.." pop up but nothing else. I deleted the device from my device list on the server settings and re-authed with a new pin and it was fine after that.

Already tried removing the PS4 from server in plex, did not fix. The only "fix" is literally to completely uninstall the PS4 app and reinstall it. Doing so will allow it to work, but as soon as i reboot it will stop. Have to do the whole process over again.
NO PRESSURE PLEX GUYS. Got some wicked strong bugs here... you'll get 'em.
Same problem here. Tried removing device and reinstalling app, nothing changes (although I did have to enter a new pin). Screen remains blank after seeing the Plex logo on launch.
Been having the same issue, deleted the app from my PS4 and reinstalled it - all seems to be OK for now...my problems did;t start until I set up a pin for my account.
Well, this defeats the purpose of paying for the plex pass for me...
You are paying for beta access and act surpriced that there is a bug? Something doesnt compute…

Hey guys, just adding my voice here. Exactly the same problem as everyone else.
Boot up PS4 > Click Plex > See Plex Logo > Black screen...dead.
Doesn't do anything if I kill the app and restart. VER 2.3.25
Wow... makes me wonder how much testing was done before releasing this version...
Is this specific when environment has home users (maybe)?
Anyway, a lot of options with Plex (Roku, NUC, etc...) so not that bad I guess...
