Bug : WebOS plex app incorrect menu and not always loading

Tv is LG 49uh8507 . After recent auto update , all texts in all menus were missing,but it was fixed .
But noticed another two bugs ,maybe related to each other .
After plex app finishes loading ,selecting a file to play , no matter if it was played or just clicked back , the display is incorrect - there are now three horizontal lines with files (when just started app its just two lines) . New line at bottom appears as duplicate of second line .I mean "Recently added in " ,i have two catogories of files ,two shared folders in server. Then if TV is turned off ,trying to start plex app next time causes it to just black screen , no plex logo at loading time ,like tv will be turned off , but its functioning , you can click remote and select different source in example . Even needed to turn Tv off and on few times ,until get plex app to start .Using Classic interface .

Also had the missing text issue that was fixed promptly. The black screen on startup started happening the same day and still persists. Force closing Plex and reopening always fixes it but it’s pretty frustrating. Device is an LG C6.

I’ve noticed - exiting plex before turning off tv helps ,next time it starts ok .Some kind of workaround.

I am having exactly the same problem only way I can fix it is to remove app unplug tv and reinstall app my tv is OLED55B7V

nasty. so, force closing Plex app after every use doesn’t cure it?

I was closing app after use from inside app as the previous poster suggested I have tried force closing from Home Screen but sometimes app doesn’t show in force to close screen after holding down home button

It’s reassuring to know that I am not alone with this black screen issue. I wondered if it has anything to do with the Windows 11 upgrade as for me it started right after that.

No ,it can’t be related to windows11 or other versions. I’m facing this issue ,and using linux . Black screen is only plex app on TV fault ,not plex server related .Anyone else have noticed that displaying of items does change after you open any file and return back to home ,in plex tv app ?
I think that is causing problem . Maybe cache or smthg else got corrupt by this bug ,but have not found how to clear it .

my server is not running on Windows. this started happening, for me, on the same day that the text disappeared, which was some change at Plex’s end and nothing to do with our own servers.

Just chiming in to add my voice too. Similar issue where it simply loads to black. Turning tv off and back on has worked every time but once. I’m up to date on my plex app software and plex server. LG C7 OLED.

App updated to version 5.27.2 - black screen issue still there ,not fixed yet.
Two lines display problem “Recently added in …” after entering any file(even no need to play) and clicking back - still there .Contents of second “recently added in …” duplicates as third line ,which initially not present .Maybe not its more clear what i mean .

Not seen the black screen much today - only happened after I enabled DNLA to give it at try. Seems like the app has silently updated to 5.27.3.

For me the issue still happened in the newest version today.
Also I am not sure if this is related but my PC goes to sleep after some time and Plex prevented it in the past but now it goes to sleep while I am watching a movie on the TV (even in the middle of the movie).

Happened again this morning. Seems like first run after the tv has been in standby overnight is when it’s most likely.

I tried the debug logging from tv to server yesterday and it doesn’t seem to work - there was nothing extra in the logs when downloaded from the troubleshooting page.

Same issue with the black screen

Same issue is happening to me. Most times I need to reboot the TV to get plex to work.

This is happening to me on my LG as well. I have been uninstalling the app and reinstalling it every time. It is super annoying. There hasn’t been a player app update since April. Hopefully they get this sorted out soon.
