Bluetooth connection with Amazon Fire TV Stick

Hi,
I have a feeling that I am almost there having the wonderful setup of using the remote control of my Fire TV Stick with Rasplex. I have enabled Bluetooth, the system can find the Fire TV Stick, but I cannot get it to pair. I know there is some communication going on, because when I simply try to pair, it says it can’t find it. When I hold the home-button on the remote for 5-10 seconds and select “Pair”, it gives me a dialog where I have to enter a code. I have tried several combinations including 0000 and 1234 (still while holding the home-button), but every time I get the message “Received no reply”.

It feels like I’m almost there… I just need that final step…

Thanks!

What I might need to add that could be helpful information, in the couple of seconds that it tries to pair after I entered a code (or when left blank), it says “Connection: Yes”, but then switches back to “No” when I get the error message.

I saw people using it with kodi and openelec, the solution its usually the same but I dont have one to test it

What version of OpenPHT and rPi are you using? Do you have a BT dongle or are you using the built in? I’ll try testing this later if we match hardware.

I will say if you’re presented with the BT option “connect and remember” they work much better. BT has been buggy in the past with rPi3 to amazon echo, so there may be an issue.
