BluRay Rip Playback

Hi guys I have some questions regarding the playback of BluRay Rips through Rasplex on the Raspberry Pi Model B:

1. Is Rasplex able to playback BluRay rips (25-40 Mb/s bitrate) that use any of the h.264, mpeg-2 or vc-1 video codes smoothly, providing I purchase the relevant license keys? (i.e. no lag, stuttering, buffering etc.)

2. Is Rasplex able to passthrough audio that uses the any of the DTS-HD MA, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital or LPCM audio codecs?

3. Does Rasplex support the playback of PGS subtitles and if so, is there a setting to have them on automatically.

hi,

this is not the droid you are looking for...

1. maybe, but i really doubt it

2. it will passthrough the dts core, though it my experience it stutters bad. dolby digital works for me.

3. yes. and yes.

There's hope then! Thanks for the response. I don't understand why it would struggle to passthrough even the DTS core though seeing as how it isn't actually doing anything to it. :s

Do you or anyone else have any suggestions on a device that could fit my needs?

1. yes if it`s .mkv h.264. if the file exceeds 23-24gb it has to buffer every 10-15 min.

2. the best thing is just to rip the normal DD or DTS audio.

3.no idea
