Instead of stretching out 4:3 video, how about blurred pillboxes? For example, imagine how Zack Synder’s Justice League could look:
This effect makes the content pop (feel grander).
Vote if you’d like to see Plex include this feature.
I’d rather see the black bars.
It looks like Doctored Vertical Cell Phone Videos that play on The Weather Channel.
No Thanks.
why would you stretch the video
I stopped asking that question a long time ago…lol
fair enough. i guess that might sound judgemental
Maybe, but with all the Aspect Ratio Whack Jobs (the Directors, not the Viewers) that seem Hell Bent to give me a headache - Blurring the Ever Changing Black Bars would only make it worse.
I don’t mind Bars - so long as they don’t change with every scene (can’t they afford the same brand of Film Stock, or have to use whatever Camera “Rent To Own” has on the shelf that day?).
pretty sure for that movie the original in theaters has the top bottom cropped. the “Synder Version” was the uncropped IMAX . Though I know what you mean with movies like The Dark Knight and Tron Legacy that intentionally change during movie.
anyway sorry for distracting from request OP
