Broken libraries after database optimization

Hello, I am not sure if I am in the correct place or able to present my questions.

I am a newby and love it thus fat however as a newby I am falling over myself trying to get it all happeing as I need it.

Although we will use it for its original use of seeing TV, movies etc, I mainly wish to use it to set up family and friends with in their libraries ti give them videos we have taken over the years.

The videos are in folders named as they are named in Plex and all the files ate in a QNAP NAS.

We use the Chrome web to access Plex and it has been great thus far until…

After a big input of files, I decided to optimize the db. It ran for hours until I had to exit. Since then I get the exclamation mark against their Library names in Plex and cannot access them.

What is my best way to get this back on track please?

I am trying to find the db but so far can’t. Is there a db repair file you have in these instances?

This will not help me now but, what about a scheduled backup of the db and essential Plex files that can be scheduled ?

Still I need to get the files linked again to Plex, can you assist please?

Thank you

Server logs might be helpful to pin down what’s actually wrong. If there’s an issue with the database, you could attempt repairing the database but that can be rather cumbersome if you’re new to that kind of stuff.

If you haven’t disabled Plex to automatically create database backups, you should still find the last few versions before Plex detected any corruption (if it’s a different issue, that won’t be of much help).

Many thanks for your help. I have read bit links and trying both options.

Firstly I have installed another Plex which shows as an option on left panel.

Would it be quicker and maybe easier to start again with Family Members and Libraries etc than to unravel the problem I have with my first install?

I have thru Putty tried to find the logs but keep get, ‘no directory’ etc. You will see I have tried a few addresses in the image.

On the other hand I have created a PlexData shared folder for easy access if needed in the future.

I had Plex open in Chrome so am tried to close it so when I reopen it will set up the links to PlexData, however the small logo/curser in the tab of the rower just keeps on keeping on so it is not closing down.

This was what happened in the Db optimizing. I don’t want to exit it as maybe it is repairing the db.

What should I do please?

Thank you again for your much needed help and guidance.

The path you’re trying to access is case sensitive… it appears you’ve let 1 lower case letter slip in where the path requires an upper case one (mediaMedia)

/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer/Library/Plex Media Server

(it seems the final result path in the example from the support article also contains this typo… the description on how to obtain/build the path is however correct; I’ve asked for the example typo to be fixed)

Thank you again. Yes I saw that and corrected it.

I stopped Plex in the NAS but that didn’t seem to do anything so I decided close all instances of Plex in Chrome and reboot the NAS.

It took ages to close all the apps down however when I came back to the office to my surprise, everything was back to normal. All libraries intact.

Can’t believe it, but so happy

I learned, first thing, reboot device first… then go from there.

Thank you again for being there.
