Broken NVIDIA GPU Driver? - QTS 4.4.3.1381 - TS-873

@cynothoglys did you get any luck with QNAP support?

@spdelope - Unfortunately not. I sent them some logs, which they completely ignored. I gave them remote access to my NAS and they logged in to enable Multimedia Station for some reason… They take almost an entire 24 hours before they respond to my questions. Hopefully you are having better luck. I firmly believe the issue is related to the QNAP provided NVIDIA GPU Driver.

I am going to give them one more day til I request that my ticket be escalated.

Sounds about right.

News for you is this morning: I was on firmware 4.4.3.1400 (last working version for me) and the tech suggested I reinstall the 1050ti I have which is on the supported model list and THEN upgrade to the latest firmware (4.4.3.1421). Once upgraded and rebooted, I got a notification that NV Kernel Driver 4.4.3.1421 installation succeeded which is what was failing for me before.

I now have a working gpu and I imagine that if I reinstall my p2200 it will work as before as well. I realize you may not have another gpu lying around you can use but I would try taking it out of the QNAP and then reinstalling the firmware (allowing it to do its full reboot after). Then reinstall the GPU. I will let you know if putting the p2200 in is not successful. And let me know if that works because I would hate to have to keep this 1050ti around just for firmware updates.

So yes, I reinstalled the p2200 and it is working with that too. So maybe you’ll have success by re-upgrading/reflashing the firmware without the gpu installed. I would be very interested to know what your results are on that.

Glad its working for you, now! I tried what you had suggested, and unfortunately it did not resolve the issue for me. QNAP was able to manually install the NV Kernal Driver, but it did not make a difference for me as I still get the same error at start up, and the GPU information is displayed incorrectly like it was for you. I am still working with QNAP on this issue, they have since escalated it to their developers for further investigation. I will put an update here once I have more information.
