Server Version#: 1.25.9.5721
Player Version#: Don’t care
This was working fine on my Asustor NAS then it did an automatic update and now nothing can see the server.
I have followed all the information I can find and tried to CLAIM the server but it generates a login error every time. I’ve logged out, tried again, followed all the troubleshooting steps NONE OF THEM WORK.
It also says that my version is 1.25.9.5721 and it tells me I need to update but when I try to update it says there are NO UPDATES AVAILALBE. The entire thing seems to be completely worthless now.
All the time I spent renaming things to get everything working and Plex says “the only support we offer is our forums” yet I see people posting MY SAME PROBLEMS AND NO ONE FROM PLEX EVER RESPONDS.
Seems they don’t care about their customers at all. I surely will NEVER be a paying customer. I’m now looking for a competitors product that actually works.
I cannot find any way to even roll back this stupid update that broke everything.
I’m cautious when it comes to “my exact problem” as similar symptoms can have very different root causes. Login errors usually imply some problem communicating to Plex’ backend (e.g. authorizing the login) – could be a firewall or DNS issues (among other things).
PMS v1.25.9.5721 is the latest public release.
Plex have released a new beta earlier today (v1.26.0.xxx) – if your server is configured to look for beta updates, it’ll notify you about those, while the Asustor app store(?) is probably only publishing the public releases (see Settings > [Server Name] > General > Server update Channel).
Well I can login without any error yet when I try to “claim” my server it says it won’t login. I can either BE logged in and it does nothing or I can NOT be logged in and it wants me to login and it generates an error. This WAS working BEFORE Plex forced an update to my system. So I doubt it is my firewall since it WAS working and I changed nothing. Since Plex doesn’t offer any support whatsoever, I really despise them right now. Great idea, too bad they think so little of their “customers”.
