Server Version#: PlexMediaServer-1.25.3.5409-f11334058-x86_64.apk
Player Version#: all
After manual update with the latest version of Plex (Asustor, apk) it hands in the time of update. After waiting for about an hour I haven’t any choice, but to reboot the NAS. Now Plex server stays in “running state” but I have no connection to it. If I try to stop it and run again via Asustor App Center, it hangs again, and I must reboot the NAS server.
My database is not small (over 4300 movies), and of course I didn’t make any backup recently
Any suggestions? Can I install older version above that, or fix the server by deleting some preferences files? I need it running, and promise - never forget to backup it anymore
Yeah, maybe we must wait for a week or two for the Plex guys to build new version.
I can’t believe, that there is no possibility to roll-back to the previous, but…
We’ll keep in touch! Thanks for the post!

DEBUG logging would have been nice here to see if the server was commanded to shut down or crashed.
While not a solution, have you attempted restarting the NAS?
I can fully access the NAS but Plex is NOT working so I can’t even enable debugging. Unless the logs are placed elsewhere, that’s all I got. Yes, I’ve tried restarting and reapplying the update but it won’t let me, nor will it let me roll back the update. Several others are having this same issue. Need a fix ASAP
I’m having the exact same problem as all the other people here, I had done all the things as well including restarting the NAS. If I could install the previous release I would, but it doesn’t let you go back to a previous version. Please do a fix ASAP.
I don’t know if the older versions are still there.
what am I looking for and for which CPU architecture?
In the future, I recommend EVERYONE keep a few copies of the server.
You never know when you’ll need to downgrade like now.
Forgive me , the argument “they take up too much space” won’t really work with me because we’re talking about 100 MB each as compared to 3-4-10-20 GB video files
PS: Having difficulty getting into the HQ Lab. It might be maintenance time. I’ll update here as soon as I can.
Thanks!
Is it possible if you have the older apk file (1 version behind the latest), and share it via google drive via a link so we can download that please?
Same problem here; no success with reboot and can’t locate an older apk to try installing. Frustrating as we were sitting down to watch a movie and all of a sudden, nothing.
So, this is the lesson as far as I can figure out. Ignore the updates on the Plex site and stick with the Asustor prompted updates.
Please at least provide the prior version apk so we can try to roll back this mess.
The App Central in Asustor NAS doesn’t let you go to a previous version of Plex, doesn’t allow it.
Just gives you an error message that the one installed is newer than the one that you’re trying to install and kills it there without the downgrade install.
