If there is already a thread that you know of, please share it or @Atomatth in it.
I’m not understanding what you mean here? Obviously if your main use case is to use Browse to set recording, then yes you wouldn’t be able to set recordings this way since Browse is not opening correctly. However, you should still be able to use the Guide, What’s On, or DVR Schedule tabs to manage DVR recordings.
Stating something is broken without any evidence or clear steps to what is broken isn’t helpful. Please let me know what I’ve missed so we can address it. This is clearly something that you’re passionate about resolving so help me help you.
Right, so this is the issue captured in the thread. See:
What I’m not understanding is the claim that DVR recordings are broken or impossible to schedule. Anything not related to the Browse page not loading is not related to this thread.
Expect the next PMS Beta release to include the fix for loading the Browse page. This was a PMS issue.
As you can see from these threads, a lot of users are reporting that searching for a program in the future is not possible. I reverted to the last workable version ( 1.41.7.9823) so I cannot test whether it is possible to even schedule recordings.
Even if it is possible to schedule recordings for those programs that show up in the guide (I cannot verify that this works), doing that for a program that is several days into the future could be quite tedious as one tries to find the program while manually scanning the Guide. And if the Guide still works as it has been in the past, doing that for more than a week in the future would not be possible since the guide cuts off at 7 days.
Maybe these are all unrelated, but the coincidences seem to suggest there might be a common cause and is worth further investigation.
I am the author of one of the posts linked by @ryrrah (My post is linked below.)
I am able to schedule a recording by scrolling to a program listing in the guide and scheduling the recording from there. The recording seems to take place without errors. However, searching the guide seems to be broken.
My server version is 1.41.8.9834-071366d65 installed from a .deb on Ubuntu 24.04.
Thanks for the help @ryrrah. I’ve combined the search related threads together and asking for logs. @rbrown if you could get your PMS logs shared there I would appreciate it.

Select Live TV from the filters across the top and am told “No results found” (but there is no error indicated). However, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” is listed in the grid program guide.

But what will be broken with that UPDATE? This is an all to repetitive story for the PLEX dev team. I guess since we already paid for our forever PLEX Pass we don’t matter to them. I’ve grown very weary of this treatment, unfortunately it appears to be the same everywhere.

The update to v1.42.0.9975 seems to have fixed the problem that I reported when I started this thread. Searching on the EPG also seems to work, which was another problem noted in other threads. I tested it on an old MacMini. I’m waiting until I see more reports before I install it on my regular MacMini.
