Browse button (Live tv & DVR) "There is an unexpected error"

Player Version#: 1.18.7.2457
Tuner Make/Model: xTeve Turner

When I load the xTeve Tuner information everything goes well, I have a guide, whats on, and Dvr schedule. That’s until I click on the browse tab. Once I do, it states “There is an unexpected error” and when I check settings it has an error mark next to tuner and states “Device not found”. If I click back a few times it will reload the guide and I can play, but if I refresh the page everything crashes.

What Plex app are you using when this happens?

The web browser? And if so, are you using the app from the local IP address or the hosted app at https://app.plex.tv/desktop?

Using from local IP on chrome.

Try the hosted version (URL in my last post).

I just did. I deleted the tuner and re-entered the information. (Whats on and guide) work fine, but once I click browse, “There was an unexpected error”. Once I refresh the page and go to live tv “There was an unexpected error” appears.

As long as I never click that button or scroll to it on my other media player, everything works fine. But I know that will happen, either by accident or someone wanting to know what that button does.

I need you to clarify, when you click on the Browse button when using https://app.plex.tv/desktop, you still get the error?

Yes I used the the https://app.plex.tv/desktop and still received the error.

Similar issue. Live Guide & DVR seems to have a bug on Android or Amazon platforms - app crashes on launch (local & remote). No issues with Roku or Chrome. Launching Live TV via other launch points are fine- only the guide is causing crashes.

I’m having a similar issue. If someone can point out a solution, would be appreciated.

Reverting to version 7.27.1.15203 worked for me. It seems all versions since then are broken for the guide.

I’m confused. I don’t see anything that looks like that version number. I’m using the Plex server which under general says it is version 4.28.03.

On the plex site, there are download options for Plex:
1.6.3.1009-57cf57c8
January 30, 2020

And Plex media server:
1.18.8.2527-740d4c206
March 10, 2020

I’m lost. What is version 7.27… software?

This is for windows based PC’s-don’t know if that makes a difference.

That’s for Android platforms.

Correct. I’m referring to the Android based client apk. The guide button is completely broken in all versions after 1/30/20. This goes for 2 firesticks, and 3 different android devices (both remote and local). Roku is fine. Not sure about other platforms.

I found the issue causing the guide crashing for me. It’s bad guide data. See screenshot. The dash in this channel number causes Android version to crash when pulling up the guide. Removing the channel from the guide resolved it. Hopefully this gets addressed.2020-03-26_0-24-41

Can you please replicate this, and provide us the logs from the Android client, please?

Sure.

I assume it’s the entire ‘/data/data/com.plexapp.android/app_logs’ directory?

You can find how to get logs here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201869908-log-files/

See attached log. Let me know if you need anything else.logging.txt (45.9 KB)

Thanks, I’ve passed it along to our development team :plexheart:
