First of all, PlexConnect and OpenPlex are both awesome! Thanks for the contributions (my donations are on the way!).
My PMS is located in the cloud on a server with decent bandwidth:
All my media is h.264 inside MP4 containers at 720p. All my clients are set to 720p@3Mbps except my iPhone set at 720X480, 1.5 Mbps. My home connection is 75Mbps but I get real-world performance of around 30Mbps.
When I use the Plex client on Amazon Fire TV or within Plex Home Theater, I can play all my movies with no problems. Even using the Plex web client is fine. Using PlexConnect or my iPad or iPhone at home on Wifi, I get lots of buffering. I looked at the server log in debug mode and it looks like it's keeping up in terms of the transcoding:
I've tried using DirectPlay with the same results. I tried using AirVideo HD server on my remote PMS and it has no problems streaming on any of my iOS devices (although it does have some AirPlay issues). My AppleTV running the PlexConnect client is the ATV2.
I honestly don't know where to go with this. I have to lower my PlexConnect quality to 480 in order to get it to play without stuttering.
