I've not really suffered much with this problem until the latest release - normally about 30 minutes into a really high res HD film but most of my 720p TV episodes played right through without issues.
Since the last update I have started seeing buffering much more frequently (even 5 minutes into a TV episode!) and watching films has now become a DLNA only experience due to the issue.
Has anyone else seen the same?

Had similar issues. I found mention of a couple new options in the settings. Well, new to me.
In PS3 Plex settings > Video Turning off Allow Direct Play and Allow Direct Stream gave better results. Also checking AC3 under Audio seems to fix the mixed up center channel I was having on a lot of content. Previously this was a problem whether I had this checked or unchecked.
I'm seeing various performance issues too. Lots of buffering, and attempting to skip forward or back either causes hangup or crash. I monitored the server side, processor is never going over 40%, so I don't think this issue is on the server's end of things. Not experiencing these issues on Roku 3 either.
I have to say iv seen more problems with newer versions the 0.9.12.1 does seem to work better then the 0.9.12.0 tho i don’t really buffer but have some some graphic glitches on differt parts of the screen.
