Plex works fine via the media player and I’m wired with 110mbps or better dl speed. The app itself still buffers. The app works fine on my Roku TV. Any future updates that might resolve?
Having same issue since updating to Plex v2 for PS4. I’ve had constant buffering issues on 4K and 1080p videos with this new version. First I thought it was a Plex media server performance issue but confirmed that videos played without buffering issues on Windows and iOS.
My video doesn’t need to be transcoded. I thought this was an issue at first so I converted/optimized my 4K video down to 1080p with AAC audio. When playing back the optimized version buffering issue persistent albeit less often but enough to be a nuisance. Again, this is only happening on the Plex v2 app on PS4 and this was never an issue prior to updating to this version.
Hm, strange. I also noticed the same. Since upgrade to v2 I can’t use Plex normally. I thought that I messed sth with server settings or I thought I played some strange format video. Then I tried shows I already watched flawlessly in the past and they are buffering now. I use max 1080p, now even some 720p are transcoding/buffering. Is there a way to downgrade the app?

Have a friend with an old PS4. With latest Plex client, it can’t handle streams over 8Mbps. The previous app version struggled over 12Mbps but this is worse. Maybe new features caused some bloat and now it bottlenecks more easily?
